Your legacy will change lives

As the UK’s only charity dedicated to helping people working in horticulture every gift left to us will make a lasting difference to all those who nurture and care for our country’s beautiful gardens and green spaces and their families.

Choosing to include Perennial in your will is a wonderful way to celebrate a love of gardens and plants, knowing that your gift is supporting those who work in horticulture and their families.

Gifts in wills are vital and enable us to continue to provide and expand our services for those working in horticulture who are facing often complex and multiple challenges.

Types of gifts

There are three main types of gifts, also known as a legacy, you can leave in your Will. Perennial relies on such gifts – whatever the size – as every one helps us continue our work.

Residuary

A percentage of your estate once any specified gifts have been made to friends and family. Many of our supporters choose to leave this type of gift because its value will be dependent on the value of your estate at any given time rather than a set amount. This provides supporters with more flexibility when deciding how to ensure that their loved ones are well looked after first and foremost.

Pecuniary

A specific amount of money. This is useful to charities as it allows services to be planned in advance and the flexibility to use the gift depending on area of greatest need. However, it is worth bearing in mind that the effects of inflation mean that this type of gift can lose value over time and may end up being worth less than you initially intend.

Specific

A gift of a specified item, such as a personal possession, land, buildings or stocks and shares.
