Making choices about your future housing can be a difficult and very stressful time whether you are retiring, leaving a job with tied accommodation, or are faced with having to leave your existing accommodation for different reasons such as disability or a relationship breakdown.

The type of housing choices available to you will vary depending on your circumstances.

Things such as whether you are single or have a family, your current housing situation and whether you have money you can use to secure a new home will all be key issues.

As soon as you know you need to begin looking for a new home you should take steps right away and begin to look at the options.

Things to think about:

  • Do you want to rent or buy your next home?
  • How many bedrooms do you need?
  • Where do you want to live?
  • Where will you be working?
  • Do you need parking?
  • What local amenities do you need such as schools, shops, supermarkets, and transport links?
