Perennial announces new Chief Executive

Perennial, the charity helping people in horticulture, has appointed Jamie Gault as its new Chief Executive.

Perennial builds better futures for people in horticulture and their families through its services and support, developing health, financial and social wellbeing, skills and qualifications. Jamie is taking over from Peter Newman who is retiring after six years in the role.

Jamie has over 40 years of experience in the charity, private and financial services sectors. In 2008 his career moved to the charity sector working with a number of people-focused organisations including a delivery partner for the Prince’s Trust, the YMCA and, most recently, Action for Carers Surrey as its Chief Executive.

Perennial Chairman Paul Rochford says: “We thank Peter for his six years of leadership through unprecedented and difficult times for people in horticulture. Perennial’s achievements in supporting and raising awareness for all those who work with plants, trees, flowers or grass are a testament to his hard work and commitment. We wish Peter the very best for the future. Part of our role in providing support for those facing challenging times is to help prevent issues from arising. We are delighted to welcome Jamie who joins at a time when demand for our services has never been greater. His experience will particularly assist the delivery of our prevent services and activities.”

New Perennial Chief Executive Jamie Gault says: “My work in the charity sector has primarily focused on early intervention and prevention, as such I understand the importance of timely, accessible services and the provision of quality information, support and advice. I am delighted to be joining the Perennial family, building on Peter’s legacy and working with the Board, the wider team and partners. I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those in the horticultural community and their families.”

Perennial looks forward to Jamie commencing his appointment in November.
